Annual inspection performed on a Helifuel system in Libya
Services and course leader Michael Jensen has recently returned from the annual inspection of a refueling system, Helifuel delivered to Libya.
The Helifuel system is on board a production and storage vessels near the Mediterranean coast. As a result of civil war, the ship has not been in operation for the last nine years. It is still necessary to maintain the ship and equipment in working order so operations can begin when the military and political situation allows it, says Jensen.
There is little offshore production of oil and gas in Libya. It mainly occurs on land. The vessel must have an annual inspection of the refueling system. Helifuel was there in March this year, but the uprising was in a phase in which travel was not advised. This time the inspection went fine. The facility meets regulation.
Helifuel not only designs, manufactures and assembles systems. We also run extensive service and training. The same applies to annual inspection. This is an important part of the company.
Helifuel has three people who travel around world servicing systems and providing training. Many customers request Helifuel to supervise startup of the refueling system and operational training for their personnel. I'll soon travel to the coast off Angola, where we have provided refueling system for the drilling vessel and flotell.
We are getting more and more work in Asia. Helifuel is not a large company and we turn around quickly to adapt to customer needs. Services are an important part in delivering quality to the customer, says Michael Jensen.
